Difference between Mini Dp and Thunderbolt
Mini displayport and Thunderbolt share the same physical interface, but the thunderbolt has a thunderbolt symbol aside. Technical speaking, the thunderbolt is the integration of DP and PCI feature.
Both Mini Displayport and Thunderbolt could support the VGA and DVI output without any problem. But for the HDMI output, we should pay attention to the apple model and meanwhile u need go to system preference, select the audio ouput as HMDI, in this way, the audio and video could output simultaneously
